Our fourth grade class started the year with a breakout activity. Students worked together to unlock the "ticket to their fourth grade learning" by finding clues around the room, thinking outside the box, and collaborating with one another. During this time they were engaged with peers, thinking creatively and using communication tools to share their ideas. Through this activity students were able to appreciate the abilities of each other's thoughts, show flexibility in ideas, and persistence when they kept trying new and different ways. The breakout boxes can be used as a team building activity and also as a way for students to review and understand curriculum as well. A perfect way to combine learning, problem solving, growth mindset, and cooperation!
