Souderton's Got Class: iPads in 5th Grade Social Studies
Date Created:January 30, 2014
Over the past two years, the fifth grade teams have worked on developing an inquiry-based social studies program that encourages students to explore the world around them. Thanks to a generous grant from Univest, our fifth grade classrooms have started to explore how we can use iPads to learn about history, our government, and what it means to be a citizen of the United States. In this video you will see students working on identifying artifacts from the past; discovering information that would not have been accessible with traditional print resources. You will also see students utilizing primary and secondary documents, as well as using tools on the iPad to foster their comprehension and collaboration.
