Salford Hills Kindergarten Wood and Paper Science Day 4/13/17
Date Created:
The kindergarten scientists at Salford Hills Elementary School continue to develop their curiosity and interest in the physical world around them as they took part in Wood and Paper Science Day! Throughout the unit, they’ve discovered that wood and paper come from trees, labeled things around their classroom as wood or paper, and learned to make careful observations during experiments. Wood and Paper Science Day is a culminating activity where the kindergarten scientists moved through centers where they could observe, describe, and compare properties of different kinds of wood and paper and how they interact with water, change the shape and texture of wood with sand paper, and layer wood and with glue to make plywood. The kindergartners enjoyed sharing observations during their hands-on learning!
